Welcome to the first Ancient Civilizations and Languages Week on Tumblr! 

For the full page of information on this event please visit this website. 

If you are planning to participate, add this little icon to the corner of your icon to raise awareness! 

For the sake of this event an ancient civilization will be characterized as any group of humans (or culturally distinguishable human tribe/group) which existed in history or pre-history ANYWHERE on the globe from the beginning of time to the fall of the western Roman Empire in approximately 600 CE. 

This event will include not only content from the civilizations themselves, but also studies of their effect on the rest of history and their manifestations in contemporary life. For example, if you are a student of the Renaissance, and would like to post about the Classical resurgence, feel free to do so!
