I wrote a Latin couplet that rhymes. It’s the famous elegiac couplet structure that was so beloved by the ancient romans. The first line is in dactylic hexameter, the second in dactylic pentameter.
I’m putting macrons over the vowels so the rhythm is more noticeable.
Dūm ego dīcō, mē maledīcō, fālsum addīcō.
Cūr ego dēficiō? Vīvam cum sūppliciō.Literal translation:
While I speak, I curse myself, and spread falsity.
Why do I disappoint? Let me live with torment.
